What is the Problem with Extreme Weight Loss and Body Transformation?

Obesity is a real and serious condition that is pretty common among people from all walks of life on a world-wide level. Furthermore, many of them have undergone some kind of a rigorous diet or even a surgical procedure to get rid of excess fat, simply because they don’t want to be fat-shamed or associated with BBW dating.

Despite the fact that these kinds of procedures are commonly performed on obese people, there are certain complications and downsides that most of us don’t even consider until it’s too late. In that name, let’s take a look at the most common problems that follow extreme weight loss and body transformation.

Quick and Easy? Not so Much

Even people who haven’t been on a diet for a single day during their entire life have heard about those fad diets that let you “eat as much as you want and still lose weight,” “get rid of extra weight in just two weeks” and more. However, these eating plans aren’t as good as you’d think, even though they aim at getting you out of the unhealthy state of having excess weight.

For starters, it’s unnatural for the human body to change its weight and body mass index (BMI) in an abnormally short period. Our organism is one of the most complex ones on the planet, which means that putting it through a dramatic change without giving it proper time to adapt won’t be fun for anyone.

The same goes for undergoing weight loss surgery, only on an even more extreme level. For instance, if you decide to have unwanted fat from your body removed surgically, it can lead to a multitude of new problems, from carrying the excess skin that simply won’t go back to its normal state around to suffering complications of a more serious nature.

On the other hand, if you’re following a “guaranteed quick weight loss” diet, you will probably deprive your body of much-needed calories while packing up with supplements and so-called diet pills. This, for example, can be seen in the Master Cleanse diet.

More Problems Than Solutions

As we’ve said before, each extreme weight loss method looks like a solution on the surface but it’s actually something that can cause new and even more serious problems for you.

Some of the most common side effects of rapid weight loss include gallstones, which can be found in about one-quarter of all people who go through it, as well as malnutrition and dehydration from self-starvation accompanied by electrolyte imbalances.

But wait, there’s more! The following issues associated with quick weight loss aren’t exactly life threatening but can have a considerable impact on the quality of one’s life. Namely, hardcore dieters will often suffer fatigue, headaches, dizziness, irritability, constipation, hair loss, muscle loss, and even menstrual irregularities caused by fad meal plans that promote extreme weight loss and body transformation in a very short amount of time.

In other words, putting yourself through something like this is probably not worthy, all things considered. It’s much better to go on a diet that will slowly and gradually help you reduce your weight while keeping you healthy.
