There are many types of beach vacations you can take that offer everything from relaxing seclusion to raucous beach parties and amusement parks on piers. Here are four of the best beaches for the times you want total relaxation.
Cabo San Lucas
Cabo San Lucas offers a wide variety of beach experiences on Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. From swimming with dolphins in the wild to amazing deep sea fishing, there is a lot to do in Cabo. Besides the beaches, Cabo is also famous for its excursions and city life. The beaches offer relaxation, but the glittering nightlife is considered the hottest in North America. You can take ATV off-road adventures and treks to the nearby mountains for whale watching in season and enjoy wildlife viewing in the UNESCO protected biosphere. Cabo is well known for its magnificent rock formations, including the Arch of Poseidon at Land’s End and the beaches where you can walk during low tide and watch the sea lions.
On the south side of Kauai in Hawaii is Poipu Beach, which is part of Poipu Beach Park. Called America’s best beach by The Travel Channel, it has golden sand, a natural ocean wading pool and the seclusion you can only find on Kauai. Another bonus is the Allerton and McBryde National Tropical Botanical Gardens of the Pacific.
Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park is located in the Big Sur area of the California Coast. It includes a secluded beach with an iconic rock arch and purple sand. Pfeiffer Beach is considered a quiet place for relaxation. The beach is bordered by cliffs and several hiking trails and campsites.
Sanibel is a quiet barrier island in the Gulf Coast of Florida. Bowman’s Beach in Sanibel is a great place to find seashells because, due to the ocean currents, the island catches more of them than other places. It is the perfect place for total relaxation because it is not crowded, is not a Spring Break destination and has not been overdeveloped for tourism. It’s also famous for the spectacular sunsets.
North and Central America have thousands of beautiful beaches that are excellent vacation destinations. From the Mayan Riviera to Vancouver Island to Atlantic City, you can be sure to find the perfect spot for your idea of total relaxation.
